The Adams Building is now home to New College, however in the 19th century it was a lace finishers' warehouse and salesroom in the heart of the Lace Market area of Nottingham. Built in 1855, it incorporates an earlier building dating to circa 1800. Additions were made to the rear of the building in 1862 and 1865 and to the north in 1885. In the 20th century it became a workshop and shop. In 1996, funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, it was extensively renovated. It now houses New College, Nottingham and the regenerated Lace Market is renowned as the city's 'cultural quarter'.

The Adams Building was designed by the Victorian architect Thomas Chambers Hine. It was named after its owner, Thomas Adams, of Adams, Page & Co, who was one of Nottingham's most important industrialists. The main central building and later alterations are all similar in style and are built of red brick with ashlar and dressed stone facings to the front, and slate roofs. The building is Italianate in style and is three and five storeys high with basements and attics. It has an irregular plan with rear ranges laid-out around two internal courtyards.

Lace finishers' warehouses, now workrooms and shops. The central block was built in 1855 by TC Hine of Nottingham for the company: Adams, Page & Co. The building incorporates an earlier building dating to c 1800. Additions were made to the rear of the building in c1862 and c1865. In c1880 an addition was made to the north. All the alterations are similar in style to the earlier central block. The buildings are built of red brick and have ashlar and dressed stone facings to the front, and slate roofs. The building is three and five storeys high with basements and attics. It has an irregular plan with rear ranges laid-out about two internal courtyards.
