I have RecyclerView in which I show imageView and TextView, in two columns. Everything works fine, but when I want to set background, it just creates extra space between two items. I searched, and I found that problem might be with android:height, but that did not helped me. Here is my XML code for the RecyclerView:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:id="@+id/recycler_viewce"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
tools:context=".PatternActivity">
</android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView>
And this is code for the element of RecyclerView:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:id="@+id/gridLayout">
<ImageView
android:id="@+id/imageView"
android:layout_width="175dp"
android:layout_height="130dp"
android:layout_alignParentStart="true"
android:layout_alignParentTop="true"
android:layout_marginStart="5dp"
android:layout_marginTop="10dp"
app:srcCompat="@drawable/love" />
<TextView
android:id="@+id/textView"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_alignParentStart="true"
android:layout_alignParentTop="true"
android:layout_marginStart="5dp"
android:layout_marginTop="174dp"
android:ellipsize="end"
android:maxLines="2"
android:text="TextView"
android:textAlignment="center"
android:textSize="14sp" />
</RelativeLayout>
