七十士譯本

七十士譯本（Septuagint；发音为/ˈsɛptʊ.ədʒɪnt/，或用羅馬數字「LXX」表示70這個數字；在一些重要的著作亦有使用Gdisplaystyle mathfrak G

成書背景
根據傳說，托勒密二世興建亞歷山大圖書館之時，為充實圖書館的藏書，曾邀請當時猶太人的大祭司以利沙寫書，並邀請十二支族的文士將猶太人的律法譯成希臘文。由各支族各自派出了六人，總數七十二人，而譯成後的聖經巧合地完全一樣，因以為名[3]。可參考約瑟夫史記。
“七十士譯本”的成書年份應該在公元前三世紀左右，事關一些公元前二世紀的文獻已經有利未記和申命記的希臘文殘本；到公元前一世紀，已經有齊摩西五經和部份小先知書。
《聖經（思高聖經學會譯本）》（思高譯本，羅馬公教；天主教通用的漢語聖經譯本，由總部設在香港的思高聖經學會翻譯）舊約次經的原文依據就是《七十士譯本》（詳見譯本說明）。
