Get list of related links to TFS work item using TFPT

0

I'm currently trying to get a list of linked work items to a TFS work Item using the TFPT PowerShell plugin. Here is my current code, which allows me to get the fields for the parent work item in the query, however I cannot see any of the related links.

Add-PSSnapin Microsoft.TeamFoundation.PowerShell
[System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadFrom((Resolve-Path 'C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0Common7IDECommonExtensionsMicrosoftTeamFoundationTeam ExplorerMicrosoft.TeamFoundation.Client.dll').Path)
[System.Reflection.Assembly]::LoadFrom((Resolve-Path 'C:Program Files (x86)Microsoft Visual Studio 14.0Common7IDECommonExtensionsMicrosoftTeamFoundationTeam ExplorerMicrosoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client.dll').Path)
$TFS = Get-TfsServer 'https://projects.dpw.state.pa.us/tfs/DPW_Enterprise'
$WIS = $TFS.GetService([Microsoft.TeamFoundation.WorkItemTracking.Client.WorkItemStore])

$QueryText = "SELECT * FROM WorkItems WHERE [ID] = '1920771'"
$WorkItems = $WIS.Query($QueryText)

Write-Host $WorkItems.ID [WOULD LIKE TO GET ID OF LINKED ITEMS HERE]

Does anyone know if this is possible? The work item specified in the query should have 2 links, and I would like to list their IDs in the PowerShell output.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!

  • I've used the AzureDevops REST API and it's easy to get the information you mention using the iterations api . The docs state that (with a bit of modification) this also works for TFS, though I've never tried it.

  • Unfortunately I don't have access to the REST API, do you know if getting linked work items is possible through TFPT?
